Mountaineering Village of Mazia
The Val di Mazia is a small, unspoilt valley in the Upper Val Venosta, and its main village was the first in South Tyrol to join the Mountaineering Villages brand. This is a promise to preserve the valley's authenticity and the mountain experience for locals and visitors alike. First, we meet some residents who tell us about the special features and initiatives being promoted in Mazia. Then, we set off for the Rifugio Oberettes, a mountain hut at 2,670 metres, from where we'll continue our hike to the Saldura Lakes the next day. Mazia is a truly special experience – for its people and its nature!
