Mining Museum

For centuries, the mines of Predoi have yielded copper to produce bells, coins and wire. Copper from the Val Aurinia Valley was especially malleable and in great demand across the border, creating a branch of industry that brought wealth and prosperity to the Aurinia Valley until 1971, when the mines finally closed. The tools used, clothes worn, and the many illustrations of the past bear testament to this rich mining history and are on display in the administrative building of the mining industry, also known as the old grain store. Welcome to the South Tyrolean Mining museum in the Val Aurinia Valley.
