Ice Climbing in the Aurina Valley

5:20 min. - 434 total views since 1 March 2022

The frozen waterfalls in the Aurina Valley attract new climbers equipped with ice screws, crampons, and ice axes year after year. The "Angerer" icefall in Riva di Tures offers an exciting challenge for curious beginners and experts looking to hone their skills. Mountain guides Konrad Auer and Lukas Troi are ice climbing experts: every grip is well thought out, every step calculated irrespective of icy wind and chilling cold. For these two men, ice climbing is an exciting adventure during winter that is as varied and different as layers of ice. So we came along and looked at how these professionals use their crampons to elegantly scale these massive, dark blue walls of ice.
